Community guidelines
Make room for each other.
TAYO brings people together through culture, shared work and time around the table. These guidelines help us keep that space welcoming, whether we meet at an event, collaborate on a project or connect online.
Everyone is welcome.
You do not need to be Filipino, know someone already or bring a particular skill to take part. Be curious about different experiences and give newcomers room to join the conversation.
Respect people and their boundaries.
Harassment, discrimination and intimidation have no place here. Respect personal space and a person's choice not to drink, be touched or share something about themselves. If someone says no, listen.
Share the space.
Make room for others to speak and contribute. Ask before offering unsolicited advice or promoting your work. When a collaboration grows from the community, discuss expectations and credit people's contributions.
Ask before taking or sharing photos.
Ask before taking or posting close-up photographs of someone, especially children, and respect anyone who does not want to be photographed. If you are concerned about an image on a TAYO channel, contact us so we can discuss it with you.
Take care of the gathering.
Look after the venue and follow the organiser's practical instructions and any venue rules. If you have access needs or a concern before attending, get in touch so we can discuss what is possible.
Speak up when something feels wrong.
At a TAYO gathering, speak to an organiser. You can also email info@tayo.amsterdam with what happened and how we can reach you. We will take concerns seriously and discuss practical next steps. Depending on the situation, an organiser may ask someone to stop a behaviour or leave the gathering.
These principles apply to TAYO gatherings, collaborations and our online community. Individual events and partner venues may have additional rules.
